Lagrein is an Italian variety from the north if Italy and is related to the Syrah and Pinot Noir grapes. This wine is deep plum in colour with dark red fruit blends; crushed violets and mulberry present on the nose. The palate follows the same nose flavours with structure and well-developed tannins without being jammy from over-ripeness and is followed by a long and dry finish.
Sangiovese is an Italian variety from the Tuscan region in northern Italy. This wine is brick red with a light ruby hue with wild herbs, cherries and hints of violets all present on the nose making it fresh and robust. The palate is light with fruity freshness and graceful structure finishing with cleansing acidity and soft tannins. This is due to the free-run juice which was fermented using east strains to bring out the delicate Sangiovese varietal character.
Petit Verdot is a French variety most notably from the Bordeaux region in southwest France. This rich plum coloured wine has opulent violets, dried petals, herbs and blackcurrant mixed together on the nose. These flavours are mirrored on the palate to create a superbly rounded structure and full-weighted palate combined with oak complexity, due to time with French and American oak, and intense fruit characters.
Mclaren Vale Shiraz
Shiraz originally from Syria but most commonly known as bring from the Rhone wine region in southern France This wine is deep purple with hints of bright violet on the edges, which is the perfect teaser to the variety of aromas including fresh barriers, black cherries, plum, mulberry, milk chocolate undertones and a hint of cinnamon. The palate continues with sweet blackberry, raspberry and plums coat the mouth with lashings of sweet spice.
Barossa Valley Shiraz
Shiraz originally from Syria but most commonly known as bring from the Rhone wine region in southern France. This deep purple red coloured wine has a dense nose with an array of aromas including plum, dark chocolate, fennel, cedar and a hint of vanilla due to contact with French oak. Sweet berry fruit flavours surrounds a firm tannin strength that lingers, this adds an enticing Moorish element resulting in great depth in this wine.
